The smartwatch market saw a 13% increase in shipments between January-March 2022, according to Counterpoint Research.
Analysing the global handset market, it found that Apple, Samsung and Xiaomi recorded year-on-year growth despite a 24% quarterly decline.
Associate Director Sujeong Lim said that brand loyalty is Apple's main success factor. The tech giant increased its overall share as well as its shipments annually by 14%. Users in major markets are wary of the lack of GMS therefore they are turning to companies they consider more reliable.
According to the report, most key regions increased in terms of total shipments, with only Europe remaining stable.
Otherwise, the key takeaways from the report is that Garmin was the leader in the premium category for handheld devices over 500 $.
